Europe gets all the postcards for a reason — ancient castles in Ireland, pasta lessons in Italy, beach days in Greece, all within hours of each other. Our trips skip the tour-bus stops and lean into the moments that actually matter: a long dinner in a Tinos village, a thermal bath in Budapest, a hike through Connemara.
Every Europe trip is built around what young solo travelers actually want — small groups, real local connection, real free time. Pick the country (or three) that pulls you in.

Most of our Europe travelers come solo — which means small groups of 8–16 like-minded 21–35s, a local Trip Leader who actually knows the area, and zero "third-wheeling" through cobblestone streets at dinner.

How much free time do I get on a Europe trip?
Plenty. Our Europe trips are Light to Moderate by design — most afternoons are open, and we never over-schedule. Your Trip Leader gives you personal recommendations so your free time is as relaxed or adventurous as you want. Each trip page shows the specific "Your Free Time" blocks day-by-day.
What's the average group like on a Europe trip?
Small groups of 8–16, almost all solo travelers, mostly 21–35. Roughly 70% join solo. The vibe self-selects — people who want a real trip with real connection, not a tour bus.
Why book a group trip instead of going on my own?
Three reasons most travelers cite: (1) you skip the planning — we've already vetted the best stops, stays, and activities for solo 21–35s. (2) A Trip Leader handles languages, logistics, weather backup plans, and recommendations during free time. (3) You meet people. Every U30X trip is a guaranteed group of like-minded young adults in your age range.
When's the best time of year to go?
Most of our Europe trips run June and September — great weather, fewer peak crowds. Spring and fall are excellent overall. Ireland and Scotland stay cool and rainy year-round; Spain and Italy can hit heat waves in August (often without A/C). Iceland is temperate even in autumn, with 24-hour daylight in summer and ideal Northern Lights viewing in October–November.
Will I need to know the local language?
No. Most Europeans speak multiple languages, and English is widely spoken in travel zones. Menus are usually available in English. Your Trip Leader knows the local language and helps navigate any situation. Most of our travelers love picking up a few words of Spanish, Italian, Greek, French, etc. along the way.
Is traveling to Europe safe as a solo traveler?
Solo travelers have been backpacking across Europe for decades. The modernization of most cities helps keep everyone connected and comfortable. At U30X, safety is always a priority and your Trip Leader can advise you on the local area. We recommend traveling light, leaving valuables at home, and staying with your group when in doubt — group travel comes with built-in safety in numbers.
