Why U30X, Not the Other Guys

This isn't a 50-person tour bus.

Plenty of companies will fly you to Costa Rica for less. Here's what you're actually paying for — and why people who travel with us rarely go back to the alternative.

8–16

A real group, not a crowd

Small enough that you'll know everyone's name by day two. Not a 40-person coach where you're a wristband.

Boutique stays, not party hostels

Locally-owned places with character and comfort — not a bunk in a 12-bed dorm. Where you sleep is part of the trip.

Real free time, not a forced march

We guide the big moments and leave the rest open. No 6am wake-up calls to tick boxes you didn't ask for.

One price, no nickel-and-diming

Hotels, activities, ground transport, your leader, and taxes — included. No hidden fees stacking up after you book.

I did my first Under30 trip to Ireland, and I had a wonderful time. Beautiful scenery, cool people, and of course our awesome trip leader Tom, who always made sure everyone was comfortable, taught us so much about his native country with such enthusiasm, and played great music (by Irish artists) on long drives that never felt long because of how scenic they were :) Thanks Tom (and U30X) for such a memorable trip to Ireland!

Just got back from the Ireland trip and had an absolutely fantastic time! Can't believe how well we all meshed with the other group members (only 8 total) and became good friends at the end. The trip was so well planned with the right amount of activities and leisure time and I never felt rushed and it was just the right pace of vacationing and exploring. The quality of restaurants and hotels chosen were exceptional and the food and locations were always on point. Never thought I would be able to travel alone to Europe but it happened seamlessly thanks to U30X. Our trip leader Tom was amazing, knowledgeable and passionate about showing us his beautiful country of Ireland...I highly recommend booking one of their trips ASAP. You won't regret it, trust me!

Can I drink the water in Ireland?

Drinking water from taps is considered safe, unless otherwise marked. For environmental reasons, we recommend using a refillable water bottle rather than buying bottled water.

Can we use our credit cards in Ireland?

Credit cards are widely accepted by stores, hotels, and restaurants. However, smaller cafes and shops may not accept credit cards so make sure you carry enough cash to cover small purchases. Please let your bank know you’re traveling overseas.

Can we find ATMs in Ireland?

ATMs are very common in Ireland so you won’t have any problems finding one in major cities and towns.

What do I need to pack?

It is important is to have a waterproof jacket and comfortable sneakers to walk in. You may bring a small hairdryer as well, but you’ll be able to ask for one in the guesthouse or hotel. Check out the full Ireland packing list.

What type of luggage is best?

The lighter the better! If you only have a rolling suitcase that will work, but if you can get your hands on a more mobile bag, like a large backpack, that would be better. We take all forms of transportation and some guesthouses and hotels don’t have elevators.

You'll also want a daypack for your personal gear, food, and drinks for the day.

When is the best time to visit Ireland?

Rain and wind are expected throughout the year, so be prepared and bring your rain jacket!

Heaviest rains occur between October and April; the months of May, June, and September are the best months to visit Ireland as it is typically  warmer.

July & August are usually the busiest months with many festivals and events that attract more tourists.

How much time do we spend in Dublin?

You will enjoy some free time in Dublin on Day 6. You’ll be able to visit as many attractions as you want.

If you’d like to enjoy as much of Dublin as possible, we recommend that you arrive a few days early or extend your trip.

What if I have allergies and/or diet restrictions?

If you have any diet restrictions or allergies, we’ll do our best to arrange a special menu for you as we want everyone to be well-fed!

Vegetarianism is pretty common in Ireland. You will be able to find vegetarian options in pretty much all the restaurants in Ireland.

Those who are vegan or on gluten-free diets may find Ireland challenging and it is recommended for those people to bring their own supplies from supermarkets or markets.

Can I opt out of an included activity?

Of course! This trip is your trip, and you don’t have to participate in anything you don’t want to. Just be aware that opting out of included activities will not change the price of your trip.

If you don't know how to ride a bike there are other options! If you can’t or don’t want to ride you can opt for a walking tour instead.

What is the physical level of this trip?

Moderate: This trip is a good mix of activity and relaxation and includes moderate physical activities.  Participants should expect to be active 3-4 hours most days. An active lifestyle is helpful though not required to enjoy the trip

Sample Breakfast Menu:

  • Eggs, sausage, pudding, bacon, beans, smoked salmon, pastries, cereals, yogurt, fruits, coffee, tea, juices.

Sample Dinner Menu:

  • Fresh seafood, steak, chicken, potatoes, and a dessert.
  • Most dinners are a set menu with 2 courses included. These are usually a Starter and a Main. There will be multiple options to choose from but more limited than a full open menu.

We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions. Most meals can be modified for special requests and food allergies.

What are the accommodations like in Ireland?

You will stay in small, family-run guesthouses and boutique hotels that are all centrally located in each town or city visited. Solo travelers are paired with someone of the same gender.  You can request a friend to be your roommate upon checkout.
