NIGHTS
Base yourself in the Southern Iceland countryside for five fast-moving days with Thingvellir, the Secret Lagoon, a Thórsmörk Super Jeep adventure, a glacier walk on Sólheimajökull, and a seasonal day at either Vestmannaeyjar or Reynisfjara.

Most people book this trip solo — small groups of like-minded 21–35s mean connection happens fast. No third-wheeling, no FOMO.
Meet at Keflavík International Airport at 8:00 a.m. and take the included group transfer into Reykjavík, where the trip kicks off over breakfast before you head out into Iceland.
Landing a few hours before 8:00 a.m. is recommended if you want the included group transfer.
On Day 5, you’ll drive back through Reykjavík for a little free time before the included transfer to Keflavík International Airport for the 2:00 p.m. trip end.
Book a departure a few hours after 2:00 p.m. if you want the included group transfer.
Expect to be active 3–4 hours most days, with a few hikes, uneven terrain, a glacier walk, and lots of time outside in Iceland’s fast-changing weather.
There’s some breathing room on scenic drives, in the Secret Lagoon, and during your final hours in Reykjavík, but most days are built around getting out and exploring.
You’ll base out of the Southern Iceland countryside, close to the South Coast’s waterfalls, glacier country, and the road into Thórsmörk. It’s remote, scenic, and far from city lights—ideal for Northern Lights chances on fall and winter departures.
Usually around 14 travelers, with a max of 18—small enough to stay flexible, big enough for a fun dinner table.

Arrive at Keflavik International Airport and take the included transportation with your group to Iceland's capital, Reykjavík.
Get to know your fellow travelers for breakfast in Reykavík and learn about the plan for your time in Iceland.
Drive to Thingvellir National Park, where you will see a massive rift valley dividing the North American & Eurasian tectonic plates.
Spend the afternoon relaxing in the geothermal pools & steam baths at the Secret Lagoon, Iceland's oldest swimming pool!
Depart for the South Coast to your Icelandic guesthouse, your home base for the week.

Wake up and enjoy a typical Icelandic breakfast before beginning the day's adventure.
After playing under the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, take the ferry to the breathtaking Vestmannaeyjar Islands in the North Atlantic Ocean.
Hike the historic Eldfell volcano that erupted in 1973.
Visit Seljalandsfoss waterfall, near the base of the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano.
Reach Reynisfjara, the world-famous black sand beach, and admire the beauty of the basalt columns, lava caves, and hear the legend of the trolls turned to stone.
Hop on an Icelandic horse for an optional ride under the dramatic coastal cliffs, or take a scenic hike around the area.
Icelandic horse ride under the coastal cliffs on Northern Lights departures (approx. $85).

Today, you will venture to the scenic Valley of Thor.
This unique valley is surrounded by three mountain glaciers--Eyjafjallajökull, Mýrdalsjökull, and Tindfjallajökull.
You will reach the valley in a Super Jeep equipped to drive on rough terrain & cross Icelandic rivers. Your Trip Leader will take you on short hikes along the way so you can truly experience the beauty of this natural wonder.

Drive along the South Coast and explore Iceland's lunar landscape for a guided ice walk across Sólheimajökull Glacier with some of Iceland's best mountain guides.
In the afternoon, stop at Skógafoss waterfall for a short hike to the top of one of the most beautiful scenery in Iceland. Your Trip Leader will take you to a secret waterfall in the area.
Take part in a tree planting project at a local Icelandic farm that promotes responsible tourism and sustainability. This project contributes to lowering our carbon footprint and reforesting Iceland.

Depart South Iceland in the morning and drive back to Reykjavík.
Enjoy some free time exploring Iceland’s quaint capital city or having lunch before taking included transportation to the airport.
Consider extending your stay in this beautiful country and visiting the Blue Lagoon or spending more time in Reykjavík on your own.

Plenty of companies will fly you to Costa Rica for less. Here's what you're actually paying for — and why people who travel with us rarely go back to the alternative.
Small enough that you'll know everyone's name by day two. Not a 40-person coach where you're a wristband.
Locally-owned places with character and comfort — not a bunk in a 12-bed dorm. Where you sleep is part of the trip.
We guide the big moments and leave the rest open. No 6am wake-up calls to tick boxes you didn't ask for.
Hotels, activities, ground transport, your leader, and taxes — included. No hidden fees stacking up after you book.
I attended the Iceland trip with Under30 and it was an amazing experience! Our tour guide Carlos had a well thought out itinerary and adapted each day based on the weather. It was an amazing experience and so nice to have everything planned and handled for you.
Had the time of my life in Iceland this past week!! Our trip leader, Carlos, was phenomenal and made this experience 10,000 times better. His troll stories, humor, flexibility, and love for Iceland definitely had our group as happy as can be. If you’re thinking of booking the trip, just do it!
The action-packed trip in Iceland with U30X was beyond amazing. This was my first international and solo trip and I throughly enjoyed every minute of it. I met some pretty incredible people, saw breathtaking views, learned about Icelandic culture and history, and felt safe and welcomed throughout. A special thank-you to our trip leader Hilmar for his guidance, knowledge, humor, and flexibility. 10/10 recommend.

Every departure is led by a dedicated U30X Trip Leader who handles the logistics, brings the group together from day one, and works alongside our trusted local guides on the ground.

Is this trip for me?
Ever wanted to experience all four seasons, a glacier, AND a bunch of waterfalls all in one day? Then get yourself to Iceland!
You will need waterproof pants, a waterproof jacket, and waterproof hiking boots. It will not be the most fashion forward outfit you’ve ever worn... But staying dry as you walk behind waterfalls and experience some of the greatest rainbows of all time will be SO worth it!
Due to the remote locations we visit, there are a few long drives on this trip but this will be the great opportunity to enjoy the scenery and get to know your new friends.
Iceland is an expensive destination but your Trip Leader will give you advice on how to save money and can stop at the most affordable supermarkets.
Since we are staying in a remote area, the only option for dinner will be at the guesthouse. You will have the opportunity to stock up on snacks at local grocery stores throughout the trip.
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and are neither guaranteed nor 100% predictable. Our accommodations are in the countryside of Iceland away from city lights, thus increasing the chances that we'll see the lights on any night of our fall or winter trips.
-Age requirement: 21+
-Group size: 18 max, average 14
-Physical Activity: Moderate. There are a few hikes throughout the trip as we explore the rugged Icelandic landscapes

Sample Breakfast Menu:
Lunch will be enjoyed at local restaurants recommended by your Trip Leader. The average price for a meal is in Iceland is 20-30 USD.
Sample Dinner Menu:
We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions. Most meals can be modified for special requests and food allergies.
Can we use our credit cards in Iceland?
Credit cards are widely accepted by stores, hotels and restaurants in Iceland. Please let your bank know you’re traveling overseas.
Can we find ATMs in Iceland?
You will be able to find ATMs in Reykjavik and in major towns of Iceland, but they are not very common in the remote places that you’ll be visiting in South Iceland. Credit cards are generally accepted everywhere.
Can I still go to the Blue Lagoon?
We plan to be back in Reykjavik around 11 am. So, if you are headed to the Blue Lagoon on your own, you'll need to take the shuttle from Reykjavik for around $20. (~45-minutes) If you choose this option, then we suggest you book your Blue Lagoon experience for 12:00 p.m. or later.
Additionally, on the final day of the trip, we can make a stop at the Blue Lagoon on our way to the airport to drop off any travelers who would like to visit. If you choose this option, please book your Blue Lagoon experience for 2:00 p.m. or later.
Please be aware that the Blue Lagoon has limited availability and tickets sell out far in advance. Please plan to spend at least 2 hours at the Blue Lagoon to fully relax and enjoy yourself.
*Under30Experiences is not responsible for booking your entrance ticket. If you encounter any issue with booking a time slot or have any specific questions regarding your reservation, please contact Blue Lagoon Customer Service directly via email or by phone.
See the Blue Lagoon’s website for more details.
What type of luggage is best?
The lighter the better! If you only have a roller suitcase that will work, but if you can get your hands on a more mobile bag or backpack that would be better.
You'll also want a daypack for your personal gear, food, and drinks for the day.
What do I need to pack?
We DEFINITELY recommend having waterproof hiking boots, a waterproof rain jacket, and rain pants, multiple interchangeable layers (the temperature can change quickly), and a day pack with a waist belt.
We also recommend avoiding cotton clothing as it absorbs moisture very easily, and takes a very long time to dry. Wool or synthetic layers are much better for Iceland’s climate.

What is the best time to visit Iceland?
Spring and Summer are usually good times to visit Iceland with warmer temperatures, long daylight hours and short nights, especially in June & July where you’ll have the chance to see the Midnight Sun. April is also a great time because daylight hours are longer but you still have the chance to see the Northern Lights.
In September, October, & November, temperatures are lower and it often rains, but this is also Northern Lights season. You’ll have a higher chance of seeing them at this time.
The weather in Iceland is very unpredictable and can change quickly. It’s possible to experience all four seasons in an hour. Icelanders like to say, “If you don’t like the weather in Iceland, just wait 5 minutes!” For this reason, we highly suggest bringing waterproof layers and dressing warmly.
The average temperatures in March & April range from highs of 38-40°F to lows of 28-30°F.
The average temperatures in May & June range from highs of 51-55°F to lows of 43-47°F.The average temperatures in September, October, November range from highs of 50-54°F to lows of 30-43°F.
What is the nightlife like?
There is no nightlife in the small town where we stay, but typically travelers get together at the guest houses and have a great time. A local Base Camp organizes concerts, karaoke, and even yoga classes at times. We may even get lucky enough to connect with Icelandic artists in our effort to connect with the locals.
Nightlife in Reykjavik is popular, so stay longer if you want to check it out post-trip.
What if I have allergies and/or diet restrictions?
If you have any diet restrictions or allergies, we’ll do our best to arrange a special menu for you as we want everyone to be well-fed! The guesthouses we are working with are able to offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
Vegetarianism is pretty common around Iceland. You will be able to find vegetarian options in many restaurants in the country, especially in Reykjavik.
Those who are vegan or on gluten-free diets may find Iceland a bit challenging, and we recommend you bring your own snacks.
How much time do we spend in Reykjavik?
You will eat breakfast in Reykjavik on Day 1, and then on Day 5 we aim to arrive back to Reykjavik by 11:00 am. Depending on your flight departure, you will have a few hours to explore Reykjavik with your local guide before heading to the airport.
If you’d like to fully immerse yourself in Reykjavik, we recommend you arrive a few days before the trip or extend your trip.
What is the physical level of activity on the Iceland trip?
Moderate - This trip is a good mix of activity and relaxation and includes moderate physical activities. Participants should expect to be active 3-4 hours most days. An active lifestyle is helpful though not required to enjoy the trip.
Will we see the northern lights?
The Aurora Borealis is a natural phenomenon and is neither guaranteed nor 100% predictable. The Northern Lights are influenced by sunspots, solar flares, solar storms, and all sorts of science that we don’t fully understand.
Our accommodations are in the countryside far away from any light pollution, so if conditions are right, you’ll be in a great spot to see them!
*You won’t be seeing the Northern lights if you come in the spring or summer for our Midnight Sun trips. They can only be seen from September to April.
Can I opt out of an included activity?
Of course! This trip is your trip, and you don’t have to participate in anything you don’t want to. Just be aware that opting out of included activities will not change the price of your trip.
What are the accommodations like? How do you request a roommate?
You’ll be staying in a charming guesthouse in the countryside of Southern Iceland. Rooms are cozy and there are hot tubs onsite.
Solo travelers are paired with someone of the same gender. You can request a friend to be your roommate upon checkout.
If you'd prefer not to have a roommate, private room options are available upon request, subject to hotel availability for an extra charge. Please contact bookings@under30experiences.com.
Can I drink the water in Iceland?
A thousand times YES!
Drinking water from the tap is considered safe in Iceland and it is probably the best water you’ll ever taste... For environmental reasons, we recommend you use a refillable water bottle rather than buying bottled water. Icelandic people may even make fun of you for buying bottled water!
Are there any optional activities? How much do they cost?
We’ve included many activities in the price of the trip, giving you plenty to do. However, we pride ourselves in helping you make the trip perfect for you. Therefore, we’ve sought out the best activities & vendors to help you have the experience you want.
And don’t worry, your Trip Leader can help set up any of the following optional activities for you so you can sit back and enjoy your trip.
-Icelandic Horse Ride: approx. $85 USD for a 90-minute ride
-Volcano Museum on the Vestmanneyjar (Midnight Sun Only): $23 USD
