Small enough that you'll know everyone's name by day two. Not a 40-person coach where you're a wristband.
Locally-owned places with character and comfort — not a bunk in a 12-bed dorm. Where you sleep is part of the trip.
We guide the big moments and leave the rest open. No 6am wake-up calls to tick boxes you didn't ask for.
Hotels, activities, ground transport, your leader, and taxes — included. No hidden fees stacking up after you book.
I have been on 8 trips (Colombia, Ecuador/Galapagos, France to Spain, Spain, Starter Costa Rica, Explore Iceland, Costa Rica Rain Forest, and Turkey) with U30X. U30X has been my favorite company to travel with and excels at finding the most unique and amazing accommodations and activities while maintaining their sustainability values. Their tour leaders are also phenomenal and are way more like friends that know the area than just a tour guide. I highly recommend traveling with U30X if you enjoy meeting like-minded travelers, having adventures of a lifetime, and have a genuine desire to explore and try new things.
I had an incredible time in Spain with our guides, Becca and Angelo. I was so impressed by how much we got to see and do and sincerely appreciated the extent to which Becca and Angelo went to make sure the group was having the best time possible. They went above and beyond - restaurant recommendations, tips, helping us through any language barriers, arranging cabs for us to airport, and designing a fun, active itinerary. My favorite activity by far was the bike tour through Seville. It should definitely be a regular part of the trip! There is no better way to enjoy a city and burning off some of the tapas with a scenic bike ride. Each of the hotels we stayed at were great and in really convenient, central locations to the best sights in the city. I always felt that me and my belongings were safe in these hotels. While I wish we had better weather, Spain will always have a special place in my heart. If you travel to Spain with this group, back comfy clothes, shoes, and bags/pocketbooks - this is an active, fast-moving trip!
I love traveling with under30! The trip leaders are phenomenal and the trips are organized, immersive, fun, and 10/10. I didn't travel internationally before Under30, and after each trip, I gain confidence, knowledge, and amazing stories. It's been the adventure of a lifetime!

Every departure is led by a dedicated U30X Trip Leader who handles the logistics, brings the group together from day one, and works alongside our trusted local guides on the ground.

Is Spain safe for LGBTQIA+ travelers?
Everyone has the right to feel safe when traveling, and Spain is one of the safest countries in the world for LGBTQIA+ travelers.
Spain is a progressive country regarding LGBTQIA+ rights and equality, and public opinion is very positive, with most Spanish people supporting LGBTQIA+ rights.
Spain is a safe and welcoming destination for LGBTQIA+ travelers, especially in tourist hubs and big cities like Barcelona. LGBTQIA+ travelers may encounter more conservative views in rural areas and small towns, but the risk of experiencing overt discrimination in Spain is generally very low.
Can I drink the water in Spain?
It is safe to drink water from taps in Spain unless otherwise marked. However, tap water might taste different from what you’re used to. Restaurants always serve bottled water, but for environmental reasons, we recommend using a refillable water bottle instead of buying bottled water.
Can we use our credit cards in Spain?
Stores, hotels, and restaurants in Spain widely accept credit cards. However, smaller cafés and shops may not, so you should carry enough cash to cover small purchases. Please let your bank know you’re traveling overseas.
How much should I budget for food and activities?
We suggest bringing 300 EUR (~335 USD) in cash for places that do not accept credit cards.
This is not a total cash amount that you should expect to spend on your trip. Please consider your own spending habits for additional expenses such as snacks, souvenirs, and optional activities.
ATMs are available in the cities and towns we visit. Although you can withdraw Euros from any ATM in Spain, it's a good idea to come with some local currency just in case.
Also, notify your bank and credit card company of your travel plans to avoid any issues with overseas transactions.
Is there laundry available?
Laundry will be available at the farmhouse in Girona for an additional fee (ask your Trip Leader for details).
What type of luggage is best?
The lighter, the better! If you only have a rolling suitcase, that will work, but if you can get your hands on a more mobile bag, like a large backpack, that would be better. We take all forms of transportation and some guesthouses and hotels don’t have elevators.
Don’t forget a daypack for your personal gear, food, and drinks for the day.
Do I need a power adapter?
Yes. Spain has two associated plug types, types C and F. Type C has two round pins, and plug type F has two round pins with two earth clips on the side. Spain operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.
We suggest purchasing a universal power adapter to charge your electronics.
What do I need to pack?
Check out the full Spain packing guide.
When is the best time to visit Spain?
April, May, September, and October are the best months to visit Spain. This period offers warm temperatures and fewer crowds, providing a pleasant travel experience.
Since July and August are very hot with lots of crowds, we don’t operate trips to Spain during this time of year.
What types of transportation will we be using?
You’ll travel in comfortable, private vehicles from Barcelona to the farmhouse in Girona and then back to Barcelona. For your day trip, you will also have private transportation to Costa Brava and the Pyrenees mountains.
During your day trip to Nuria Valley in the Pyrenees mountains, you’ll enjoy a 45-minute ride on a public rack railway to see the valley and mountainous landscapes.

The on-site restaurant offers signature and plant-based cuisine, all prepared with organic products sourced directly from their own farm.
