If you're reading this, chances are you've already decided that you want to invest in yourself this summer and experience the world. High-five!
I'd say the hard part is done, but let's be honest...deciding WHERE to go is definitely the hardest part (everything after that is just details, right?)
Top 5 Trips to Take This Summer
There are TONS of amazing places on this planet, and narrowing down the options can be tough. If you've found yourself on the decision making struggle bus, you're not alone – I'm pretty sure I'm driving it. Here's a list I've curated to help BOTH of us make up our mind!
Bali
I have to be upfront on this one. Bali was the first Under30Experiences trip that I went on and it was a total game changer for me, so I'm a bit biased.
Being submerged in a culture so different than my own (in every way possible) was the best gift I could have possibly given myself. Not to mention, the surfing is prime, the landscape is beautiful, and the people are SO DAMN HAPPY.
The Villas you stay in are in the middle of the jungle, and are the perfect way to really disconnect. You also get to visit the Monkey Forest, swim in the Indian Ocean, tour a Balinese family compound, AND hike a volcano for sunrise (which is quite the magical experience).
Bali is, and will likely always be, my top pick.
Iceland
You know what's even better than going to Iceland to see the Northern Lights? GOING TO ICELAND WHEN IT'S NOT A FROZEN TUNDRA!
Exploring this stunning glacial country is prime during the warmer months. Not only is it home to more horses than people, and but it's home of the coast where a good portion of Game of Thrones was filmed! (Where my fellow GOT nerds at?!)
Plus, the summer time is the only time that you get the chance to explore the Vestmannaeyjar Islands, as weather during the fall/winter months is typically too harsh to take the ferry to the world famous settlement. Hiking the volcano Eldfell and enjoying the breathtaking views of the North Atlantic Ocean is incredible!
France to Spain
Hit two beautiful European countries with one stone?! YES, PLEASE.
Under what other circumstances can you visit gorgeous landscapes ranging from vast vineyards, to beautiful beaches AND the highest mountains in Europe in one trip?!
Rich historic culture, the best gastronomy in the world, and a hike in the French Alps. Sounds like a dream to me!
So much so, that this trip is on my personal list for the summer. If you happen to decide to sign up for this trip for the first week of April, I'll see you there!
Starter Costa Rica
This place is paradise. Relax on some of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica, hike off the beaten path through the magical jungle, and see lots of wildlife along the way.
Want to learn some new skills? You'll have the option to take surf, salsa, and cooking lessons!
There's a reason Time Magazine named Costa Rica the happiest country in the world, and the secret just may be hidden in their epic sunsets. You'll have to go to find out!
Costa Rica Rainforest
This tropical wonderland is home to 5% of the the world's biodiversity – monkeys, jaguars, and panthers can be found throughout the rainforest.
You'll stay at a famous eco-lodge, hike in the rainforest, relax in natural springs, and experience a Costa Rican waterfall!
With daily organic meals grown on site and optional daily yoga, there is no better place to open your mind, take a break and learn about yourself than the mountains of Costa Rica.
I know this list barely scratches the surface of ALL that is out there, but I hope it will help you hop off of the decision making struggle bus!
Look forward to adventuring somewhere rad with you this summer!!!
