I was in fifth grade when my school put on the production of "The King & I", where the story takes place in Siam - the location of modern day Thailand.
I was transported to this magical place but it had always felt like a childhood dream. I could never fully grasp the magic of a place like Thailand could be real.
As I got older, I became captivated by the thought of going to Thailand.
I'd daydream about the bustling markets, eating pad thai from street vendors, visiting the giant Buddhas in Bangkok, and island hopping in the long stretches of paradise.
I would envision myself in the the Thai jungle, visiting the elephants in the North...and I could close my eyes and see the crystal clear water beckoning me.
Last summer, my dream became a reality and I traveled to Thailand. It was even more more magical than I'd imagined.
The Buddhas were bigger, the elephants were gentler, and the beaches were the most beautiful I had ever seen.
And the pad thai? Your local Thai restaurant's signature dish doesn’t even begin to compare.
