The #1 statement I hear from our travelers is that they came back changed and want to start living a more empowered life. Our community is a place for alumni to connect with other alumni and become inspired by other's empowered journeys.
For some of our alumni change comes in small incremental changes and for others it comes in the form of quitting your job and moving abroad. Wherever people fall on this change spectrum, the fact is is that travel is transformational and that it takes bold initiative to make change happen.
Meet five alumni who are making waves and using travel as a launch pad to make bold changes in their lives.
Lisa DeLosso
Trips: Starter Costa Rica and Iceland
Current Location: Austin, Texas
Her story: I'm an introvert who loves to challenge myself through adventure. I got my first taste of it in 2006 when I enrolled in Semester at Sea, and sailed to 11 destinations in southeast Asia. Since then, I've backpacked through Europe; ridden my bicycle over 4,500miles from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska; climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro; and completed two courses with the National Outdoor Leadership School. In addition to my full-time job, I run Adventure Book Club®. I founded this group in 2014 as a way to provide a forum for adult adventurers of all backgrounds to read, learn, and share tales of epic transformation, courage, and awesomeness in the great outdoors. So far, it's been really successful--we have over 150 members and were just trademarked in August 2016.

Trips: Explore Costa Rica (Patiently waiting for Peru in September 2017)
Current location: Berkeley, CA
Her story: I am extremely passionate about self love, empowerment, personal growth and human connections. 3 years ago I started a self love blog, which led me to authoring a book, "Be Love: Daily Intentions Guiding you to Self Love", and hosting events for millennial women centered around self love. Throughout the next year, I'll be hosting events around the country and hopefully in South Africa when I visit in March. I am also launching apparel that embodies my brand and am excited to give women more ways to love on themselves, especially thru fashion.

Trips: The First U30X trip to Costa Rica
Current location: San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua
His story: After traveling to Central America, I decided to move to Nicaragua where the Circulo Initiative is being built. The Circulo Initiative is a family of for-purpose businesses dedicated to service, hospitality, adventure travel, and organic food. We use business as a tool to regenerate human and environmental abundance. The Initiative functions as an ecosystem; connecting dots and closing loops through spirited collaboration. Working together, we’re a team of curious stewards ensuring that our business ecosystem flows and grows as we invent our future.

Angelique "Angel" Bailey
Trips: Starter Costa Rica (Bali on my mind!)
Current Location: Raleigh, NC
Her story: As a U30X Alum and Raleigh Community Manager, I aspire to inspire those around me to discover more of the world around them, both locally and internationally through visual media and community building. My work as a creative director at Reserve Direct and independently with my small company, BEAMtv. These outlets enable me to leverage digital media to connect people with the stories and content that encourages them act on their dreams and reach beyond their comfort zones. I'm also an aspiring yogini proudly hosting my first retreat in beautiful Costa Rica this January and am excited to start planning my 2017 adventure with U30X!
