Since 2012, Under30Experiences has safely operated small-group trips in 30+ countries around the world.

We understand that traveling internationally, especially solo, can feel intimidating. That’s why safety isn’t an afterthought for us. It’s built into every trip we run.

Small Groups by Design

Almost all of our group trips are capped at 16 travelers maximum.

Smaller groups mean:

  • More personalized attention
  • Better oversight from Trip Leaders
  • Faster coordination if plans need to change
  • Stronger group cohesion

Over 70% of our travelers join solo, many leaving the country for the first time, and safety is a major reason they choose us.

Vetted & Trained Trip Leaders

Every Under30Experiences Trip Leader:

  • Is First Aid & CPR certified
  • Is trained in emergency response procedures
  • Has destination-specific operational training
  • Has direct access to regional support staff

Our leaders are not just “tour guides.” They are trained facilitators responsible for group safety, logistics, and coordination on the ground.

Emergency Protocols & Planning

For every destination, we maintain:

  • Detailed emergency response plans
  • Vendor emergency protocol reviews
  • Communication escalation procedures
  • Regional management oversight

In the event of illness, injury, political unrest, natural disasters, or travel disruptions, our team activates predefined contingency plans.

We have operated continuously since 2012 including through global travel disruptions and have developed strong crisis management experience.

Carefully Vetted Local Partners

We work primarily with:

  • Locally owned vendors
  • Boutique accommodations
  • Long-term regional partners

Each partner is vetted for:

  • Licensing and compliance
  • Safety procedures
  • Insurance standards
  • Operational reliability

We review vendors regularly and make adjustments when needed.

Insurance Requirements

Travel insurance is required for all travelers.

Your policy must include at least:

  • $200,000 USD in combined medical coverage
  • Emergency evacuation
  • Repatriation coverage

We strongly recommend policies that also include:

  • Trip interruption
  • Cancellation
  • Personal liability
  • Lost luggage protection

We review insurance requirements carefully because international medical care and evacuations can be extremely expensive.

Company Insurance

Under30Experiences carries commercial tour operator liability insurance and works with licensed, insured local vendors where required.

While this insurance protects our operations, travelers are required to carry their own travel insurance policy to cover medical care, evacuation, and trip interruption.

Community Standards & Zero-Tolerance Policy

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for:

  • Bullying
  • Harassment
  • Hate speech
  • Disruptive or unsafe behavior

Any traveler who violates our standards may be removed from the trip.

We are committed to fostering an environment where everyone feels welcome, respected, and safe.

Responsible & Sustainable Travel

We actively avoid overtourism and prioritize responsible travel practices.

This includes:

  • Supporting local economies
  • Preferring locally owned businesses
  • Selecting lower-impact activities
  • Reviewing environmental considerations

Responsible tourism contributes to long-term safety and stability in the communities we visit.

Destination Awareness & Local Guidance

We continuously monitor U.S. State Department advisories and local conditions in every destination we operate.

If conditions shift, we evaluate and adjust our plans as needed.

International travel requires awareness. We encourage travelers to review destination information themselves and our team stays informed in the background while you focus on the experience.

Our Trip Leaders and regional team know the places we visit well. They understand the language, culture, and logistics of each destination. If there are areas that don’t make sense to explore late at night or situations that require extra awareness, we’ll tell you directly.

When we go off the beaten path, it’s intentional and supported by trusted local relationships and on-the-ground experience.

Pre-Trip Communication

We want you to feel prepared before you ever step on a plane. About 30 days before departure, travelers receive:

  • A detailed arrival guide
  • Airport pickup instructions 
  • Trip-specific logistics
  • A private WhatsApp group invitation

Many travelers connect ahead of time, reducing solo-travel anxiety and building community before arrival.

On-Trip Support

We believe great trips come from strong communication. That’s why every U30X departure includes:

  • A trained Trip Leader on the ground
  • Regional oversight
  • Direct access to our HQ support team

You’re supported locally and behind the scenes. If any issue arises, travelers can contact their Trip Leader, Regional Manager, or our HQ team directly. If something feels off, even if it’s small, we encourage travelers to speak up early so we can address it quickly.
